Grundlegendes über Recurve-Bögen
Basic information about recurvebows:
At the picture on the left side you can see many things about a recurvebow.
A recurvebow considers of three pieces, two limbs and the handle. As you can see on the picture the handle has got an arched window. This part is for the arrows. The arrows could fly a direct way to the target and doesn’t have to fly about the bow. You also have a better look at the sight.
What you can also see is the handhold under the arched window. It is formed for the left hand if you shoot with the right hand, holding the string.
The special thing about a recurvebow is the effect of the recurved limbs. While drawing the bow the most power is saved in this part of the limbs. So the recurvebow has got the possibility to give more of the saved power to the arrow than e.g. a longbow. The consequence is an faster arrow, hitting the target more exactly.
